Name My Newest Design Contest
I'm so excited to show you my newest design. This shawl is winged and has a lace edging.
The pattern is with my test knitters right now and the only thing I need before I can publish it is a name.
Post a comment with your suggestion. I will choose a name from there. The person who posted this name will get a free pattern of this shawl + the yarn to knit it.
I'm looking forward to your posts. I will pick the name and winner on Friday, November 12th, 2010.

I was caught up by the wingedness of the shawl. I suggest Vikare which is the Etruscan variation of Icarus. It's a snappy little name, and something different, yet it still has a history.
Beautiful shawl!
I think: Blue Balance
Gorgeous Gemstone ( Susanne)
Northern Lights (Claudia)
The first thing which came into my mind was "Montana"
No real exlanation for this, maybe just the colours and I have this CD cover in mind:

Listen to the music - it fits to the scarf!!!

The edging reminds me of layers of rock that are slowly eroded by water. I'm not sure the shape is pointy enough to justify "Stalagtite" as a name, but while looking at pictures, this one really jumped out at me: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/45/Phongnhacave.jpg
The way the stalactites are arranged in this picture remind me so strongly of your shawl. Of course this is compounded by the colours, but even without them the basic shapes seem very similar. So I'd suggest "Phong Nha", the name of this cave.
Ilina (on ravelry)
I'm not good at names but I'll have a go:
Angelwings Shawl
Snowbird Wrap
WinterStar
Since "Aurora Borealis" is already taken, what about
"Sparkling Berries"? The sample has all my favorite jewel tones in it, and the border design reminds me of the quilt pattern with the baskets (don't recall if it has berries in the name or not, but it should).
How about "Wings over New England"?
