WINTER FLOWER HAT

This is my newest free pattern. In my local yarn shop I saw the yarn Ella Rae classic print somehow being neglected sitting in a shelve. I have a hard time to see nice yarn not being used. (We don't talk bout my stash here :) )
I decided to design something with it and here you see the result:

Material:

MC: Louet Riverstone, about 110 yards.
CC: Ella Rae, Classic Print, about 110 yards.
US 5 / 3.75 mm dpn set of five, US 5/3.75mm 16"circular needle.

Gauge: 6 st = 1” in st st

Sizes: small/medium and large, 18” / 21.5” finished head circumference.

Instructions for size large are written in parenthesis.

Picture shows a size large.

With circular needle CO 110 (132) sts and join carefully not to twist.

Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 7 rnds. K 1(3) rnds.

Pattern set up rnd: *M1, K22, pm* 5(6) times. You have 115 (138) sts.

Work in chart pattern rnds 1 -19 and rnds 23 – 44 (1 – 44)

Then *K1 MC, k3tog CC, K1 MC* 5 (6) times.

In MC *K3tog* 5(6) times.

Break yarns. Bring yarn (MC) through remaining sts and pull tight. Secure on the inside.

Weave in ends.

/ = K2tog (Knit 2 sts together)

= SSK (Slip Slip Knit: Slip as if to knit the next two stitches on the left-hand needle one at a time onto the right hand needle then insert two slipped the left-hand needle into the fronts of the stitches and knit them together.)

M1 = From the front, lift loop between stitches with left needle, knit into back of loop.

To avoid pulling, wrap your floats when there are more than 5 sts of the same color in a row.

To create a nice fabric on the inside I did my floats not get longer than 2-3 sts in a row.

Have fun knitting
