Fingerless Mittens

Material: 1 skein of Noro Yuzem  or approx. 125 any other worsted weight yarn.   
One set of double pointed needles size US 6 / 4 mm
2 stitch markers, scrap yarn
Gauge: 5 sts = 1” in stockinette stitch
Size: woman small (woman medium, woman large/man small) 6.5 (7.25  8)”
Abbreviations:
  • pm :      place marker
  • slm:      slip marker
  • M1:       make one (increase): With left needle tip lift strand between needles from front to back. Knit the lifted loop through back
  • BO:       Bind off.
  • CO:       Cast on.
  • Rnd:      round

Instructions
Co 32 (36, 40) stitches.
Distribute stitches as evenly as possible on three needles.
Join carefully not to twist.

Cuff
Work in K2 P2 ribbing until cuff measures
2 (2, 2.25)”

Hand
K 2 (2, 3, 4) rounds

Shape Thumb Gusset:
Work Rnd 1-13 (1-13, 1-16)

Rnd 1:  K1, pm, M1, K1, M1, pm K to end of round.
Rnd 2 & 3:  K .
Rnd 4: K1, slm, M1, K3, M1, slm, K to end of the round.
Rnd 5 & 6:  K.
Rnd 7:  K1, slm, M1, K5, M1, slm, K to end of the round.
Rnd 8 & 9:  K.
Rnd 10:  K1, slm, M1, K7, M1, slm, K to the end of the round.
Rnd 11 & 12: K.
Rnd 13: K1, slm, M1, K9, M1, slm, K to the end of the round.
Rnd 14 & 15: K.
Rnd 16: K1, slm, M1, K11, M1, slm, K to the end of the round.

You have 11 (11, 13) stitches in between the markers now (gusset sts).
K1, put gusset stitches on scrap yarn, CO 1 st over gap, K to the end of the round.

Continue to work in stockinette stitch for 1 (1.25, 1.75)”.
Then work in K2, P2 ribbing for 1” or desired length.
BO in pattern stitch.

Thumb
Place held gusset stitches onto 3 dpn.
With 3rd needle pick up and knit one stitch before the gap, one stitch over the gap and one stitch after the gap.
Next rnd knit sts of 1st and 2nd needle, knit sts on the 3rd needle to the four last stitches, K2tog 2x.
Work in st st for 2 (2, 3) more rounds.
Work in K1 P1 for 4 more rounds or to desired length.
BO in pattern stitch.
Weave in ends and make the second mitten.

Think I've spotted a mistake in the pattern, when it comes to the hand part it says K 2 (2, 3, 4) rounds. As there are only 3 sizes for the mitts how many rounds should it be for each size?
