Swiss Chalet

It took three days to make this homemade gingerbread masterpiece built from scratch with a Martha Stewart recipe. The design was inspired by chalets my family saw in Brienz, Switzerland. The roof is made out of sugar wafers to look like shingles, and the trees are adorned with mini m&m's. My special thanks goes to the builders, my children under supervision of the architect Kirstie. I have a feeling clean-up will be easy...

FLORIDA

After a 24 hour drive we arrived safely in Orlando.
We are looking forward to the wedding of our friend on Sunday. We had fun at our friends house and I was excited to see some people I haven't seen in a long time......
I even taught the bride and groom a dancing lesson for the wedding. What a honor......

And if somebody thinks that people in Florida don't decorate their houses for Christmas because of a lack of snow......

Welcome to the land of Disney!!!!
This is actually a private house decorated with 100 000 lights and the owner spending 3 weeks in the year to put it up and down........

Success

On Thursday we will be able to hand a $ 870.00  check to the women's shelter. What a great outcome of all the love and work which went into the Barn Raising Quilt project.

Here a picture of first hat, mittens and socks of two of my students, Laurie and JoAnn, at the yarn shop. I'm proud of them.....

Today is the day.......

......the drawing for the Barn Raising Quilt, we did through my local yarn shop, will be held!
All the proceeds will go to the local women's shelter for domestic violence.
I'm totally excited who will get this beautiful piece of art and find how much money we are able to donate. My kids liked the whole idea so much that they bought tickets from their allowance money.
Thanks to all the wonderful knitters, who helped to make this project a success. Special thanks go to my friend Linda who initiated this and put a lot of time and energy in, even though she was sick!
I can't wait to see what's going to happen tonight at the raffle......
